Nachdem ich 2019 Buchbinderkarton als spannendes Material für meine Ateliererkundungen entdeckte, habe ich intensiv mit dem Material gearbeitet. Ich liebe und schätze die vielfältigen Möglichkeiten, die es eröffnet und die einfache Handhabung mit wenig Werkzeug-Einsatz. Ich nutze ein Teppichmesser, eine Schere, Abdeckband, ein Falzbein, Sprühlack und Schleifpapier und jeder Arbeitsschritt erfolgt von Hand. Den Konstruktions-Prozess mag ich sehr, egal ob es sich um eine abstrakte oder eine gegenständliche Konstruktion handelt. Der Prozess dauert lange und ist mühsam, doch jeder Schritt- vom Anfang zum Ende – lohnt sich.

After discovering bookboard in 2019 as a viable material for my studio explorations, I have worked with this material extensively. I appreciate and love the endless possibilities it offers with a need for very few tools. Using a utility knife, scissors, masking tape, a bone folder, spray paint and sandpaper, every step is carried out by hand. I love the process of constructing whether it’s a recognizable object or something abstract. The process is slow and tedious but the steps from beginning to end are always rewarding.
